What We Do

The Presbyterian Church in India (Reformed) understands the Church as God’s covenant community, called to share in His redemptive work as the body of Christ. Grounded in the authority of Scripture, Reformed theology, and Presbyterian in polity, the Church exists to glorify God, nurture believers in faith, and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

All ministries are grounded in a biblical foundation and a Christ-centered identity, aiming to promote spiritual growth and discipleship. The church emphasizes in strengthening believers through Scriptures, build one another up in fellowship, practice love through action, exercise faithful stewardship to develop godly character, pursue holiness, and engage in social service, mission, and witness Christ - all for the glory of God and the edification of His people in faithful obedience.

Living out the Gospel in various Ministries

1. PASTORAL MINISTRY - “Pastoral Care Rooted in God’s Covenant and Word.”

Pastoral ministry is a sacred, God-ordained office focus on shepherding the local church through biblical authority and covenantal care.

Core Pillars of Pastoral Care:

Biblical Teaching: Preaching the complete, uncompromised truth of Scripture with clarity.
Spiritual Oversight: Guiding and protecting the congregation alongside the elders and exercise biblical discipline for the purity, peace, and edification of the church
Sacramental Administration: Faithfully executing holy ordinances like baptism and Holy Communion.
Personal Care: Providing direct spiritual counsel, home visitations, and crisis comfort.
Church Unity: Maintaining institutional purity, peace, and spiritual growth. The Shepherd Leadership

2. MISSIONS & EVANGELISM MINISTRY - “Proclaiming Christ, Fulfilling the Covenant Mission.”

The Mission and Evangelism is rooted God’s sovereign grace and for His glory. The church is committed to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and leading the lost souls to have personal relationship with Jesus to grow in his likeness. Sharing the gospel with passion, witnessing the gospel through gospel camps, outreach programs, retreats, gospel outreach, and personal engagement seeking transformation of lives.

Strategic Global Partnership:

The Presbyterian Mission Fellowship mobilizes local churches to fund, send, and support missionaries. They actively collaborate with several major mission agencies, including: PMI, IEM, FMPB, NIM, MVM, GFI, HIM, GNPL, and the Tedim Synod in Myanmar. Therefore, the mission of the church is to faithfully proclaim Christ, calling people to repentance and faith.

MINISTRY TO WOMEN- “Women of Faith, Guardians of the Covenant.”

The Ministry to women exists to nurture, equip, and empower women for spiritual growth and serving God for the glory of God. Guidance and opportunity are provided for women to grow spiritually and develop self-reliance, that thy may serve with purpose and compassion in their families, the church and the community - becoming faith-filled women who serve with compassion and purpose.

This ministry functions through the Presbyterian Women’s Fellowship in each local church and presbytery, seeks to strengthen faith through Bible study, mentoring, prayer, fellowship, discipleship, camps, retreats, gospel outreach, visitation, and love in action, helping women faithfully serve Christ and contribute to the growth and witness of the church.

MINISTRY TO YOUTH - “Shaped by the Word, Strengthened for God’s Glory.”

Youth ministry is dedicated to guiding youth in spiritual formation and in the cultivation of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Through intentional discipleship, nurture, and empowerment, youth are equipped to mature as Chirst-centered individuals who participate actively in the life and mission of the church and serve as faithful witnesses of the gospel. Biblical truth is presented as the foundation for holistic formation, shaping their character, identity, and worldview, while preparing them to live out their faith with integrity in all spheres of life.

At the local church and presbytery levels, the Presbyterian Youth Fellowship facilitates opportunities for mentoring, discipleship, fellowship, Bible study, cottage fellowship, as well as camps and other youth-oriented programs. These initiatives are intended to promote spiritual maturity, mutual edification, and the development of leadership capacity or kingdom service.

MINISTRY TO CHILDREN - “From Promise to Practice: Raising Faithful Covenant Children”

The Ministry to Children is committed to nurturing faithful covenant children by leading them from God’s promises into daily Christian living, ensuring that the faith is faithfully transmitted to the next generation for the glory of God

A strong biblical foundation is laid through teaching, discipleship, and care, shaping children’s faith, character, and identity in Christ. At the local level, the Presbyterian Children’s Fellowship oversees Sunday School programs guided by biblical truth, equipping children to understand and live out God’s covenant promises from an early age.

MUSIC MINISTRY - “Rooted in the Word, Expressed in Worship.”

The ministry exists to glorify God through biblically grounded, Christ-centered worship, fostering Scripture-shaped singing through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs that encourage active participation, nurture spiritual growth, edify the church, and uphold sound doctrine.

“The Music Upliftment Committee oversees the Central Choir, offering music training and developing the hymnbook to enrich church music. At the local level, Liturgical worship is led by the Pastor or Elder, while choirs and praise teams guide congregational singing, cultivating authentic worship and nurturing faith in unity.

MERCY MINISTRY - Mercy in Action: Reflecting Christ’s Love”

The Mercy Ministry is the compassionate service and faithful stewardship of the church’s calling to reflect the love and justice of Christ in a broken world. It seeks to care for those in need, uphold human dignity, and bear witness to the gospel through acts of mercy, justice, and practical support within the community.

This ministry seeks to care for the poor, sick, widows, the marginalized, the suffering, and the vulnerable within the church addressing both immediate needs and long-term restoration.

At the local level, the Board of Deacons is responsible for the Mercy Ministry, ensuring that it is administered in an orderly and accountable manner with integrity. It provides assistance to members and other who are in need. It also promotes the active participation of the entire church community, equipping members to serve with love and integrity.

Moreover, when urgent or exceptional needs arise, the church may also mobilize additional financial support through voluntary contributions from its members to provide timely assistance to those who are suffering or facing serious hardship.
